About Us
Jen earned a M.S. at University of Illinois for studying the Greenhouse Effect on Rice for the EPA as well as an M.F.A. from SVA in NYC. Facilitated at U Michigan's teacher training, taught art classes for Parson’s. Over the last five years developed, taught, and tested Full Circle Science while volunteering as a Learning Leader in NYC public schools, at the American Museum of Natural History, as a science mentor for middle-schoolers, while working as "Science Teacher Jen" or "Science Jen" at an Afterschool and an Early Childhood program. Jen teaches Scientific Inquiry at St. John's University in NYC.
Octavia earned a Ph.D. in comparative literature from the University of California, San Diego in 1998. For most of her professional life, she has worked in teacher preparation, designing and teaching undergraduate courses, as well as designing and coordinating undergraduate interdisciplinary majors for multiple subjects teachers. She has published scholarly and creative works, and she teaches writing at St. John’s University in NYC.
